Obsession

Here's my luggage. Packed and re-packed. There's still important things missing and I will have some objects tied on to me as past three things to carry I WILL lose something. Sunday morning must be cool because I plan to wear thick jeans, heaviest walking boots and of course will be carrying my woollen coat. Once seated I'll discard my boots and don my fabulous bamboo slippers, loosen my waistband and settle back.

There's a 6 hour-ish stopover and I'm booked into the Premier Lounge where showers, couches, food and wine will flow like wine until I have to do that 13 hour flight to Heathrow. I'm excited by the thought of two giant bottles of spirits (depressed by the thought of carrying them) and just the fun of flying. I am I will sure change my mind about that.

Countdown 23 January

Well, I've taken the plunge and set up a blog.  I think this is the best way to tell anyone who's interested what's happening on this crazy trip.  Apart from a couple of small panics like thinking I'd lost my ticket, not having money, and the constant questioning of the decision to go with hand luggage only, I have gradually tackled my list of to-dos and today was technology day, when I got a camera (for $50, woo!) and Anna got me a Dick Smith voice recorder so I can do at least one interview. 

 

Dreaming of aeroplanes

35 degrees c seems to be my focus at the moment and it only enhances my desire to get into that plane and use all technology to get my cold.  And that will happen at about 9am on the 29th of January from Adelaide airport, when I board the Malaysia airlines plane bound for Kuala Lumpur en route to London.  So welcome to everyone who is looking at this - all my friends, and anyone who I don't know.  Keep tuned in!
